Organic loose leaf
Yerba mate
Clean, steady energy from the leaf Argentinians have trusted for centuries. Unsmoked, organic and smooth.
- USDA certified organic, never smoked
- Smooth flavor, no harsh smoky aftertaste
- Hand-picked on small family farms
- Free U.S. shipping on every pack
The smoke problem
Most yerba is dried over smoke. Ours isn't.
Traditional yerba mate is dried over wood fires, which leaves a heavy, smoky taste. We air-dry our leaves and stems separately instead, so you taste the leaf, not the fire.
Typical yerba
- Dried over wood-fire smoke
- Harsh, smoky aftertaste
- Often not organic
MADFLOW

New to mate?
Brewing mate in 4 steps
Our founder grew up in Argentina drinking mate every day. Here's how it's done.
Fill the cup
Fill your mate cup about 2/3 with yerba.
Tilt and shake
Cover, tilt and shake gently so the yerba forms a slope.
Add the bombilla
Insert the bombilla (metal straw) into the low side.
Add hot water
Pour hot water, not boiling (about 160–175°F), into the empty side. Sip, refill and enjoy.
No mate cup? It also brews well in a French press or tea infuser.

Reviews
What mate drinkers say
Plant Mom“It tasted very smooth and not bitter and I didn't feel jittery drinking all of it.”
Spencer F., verified buyer“Great quality yerba. Smooth taste and prepares well, easily floats in the matero so you get a good monte without washing out the yerba.”
Maria C.“I buy yerba in bulk when I visit Argentina and once I ran out I decided to try this brand. It is definitely a competitor against other brands. I will surely be buying this again!”
FAQ
Questions, answered
Is MADFLOW yerba mate smoked?
No. Most traditional yerba is dried over wood fires. Ours is air-dried, with leaves and stems dried separately, so there's no smoke in the flavor.
Does it have caffeine?
Yes. Yerba mate naturally contains caffeine, which is where the energy comes from. Many people find the lift steadier and smoother than coffee.
I don't have a mate cup. Can I still drink it?
Yes. It brews well in a French press or a tea infuser, hot or iced. If you want the traditional way, you can add a MADFLOW mate cup to your order above.
Where does the yerba come from?
It's hand-picked on small family farms in southern Brazil, in the Atlantic Forest region where yerba mate grows naturally, and it's USDA certified organic.
What's the difference between the 4-Pack and the 8-Pack?
Same bags, same leaf. The 8-Pack is our best price per bag, so it's the better pick if you drink mate every day or share it.
