Loose Leaf Yerba Mate

I am a coffee drinker trying to switch over to Yerba Mate & Moringa tea. I've tried Yerba Mate before but used it all up to feed my sourdough starter so I was really happy to try this USDA organic Madflow yerba mate tea.It smelled good and strong as soon as I unsealed the bag. I have a French press that I wanted to dedicate to Yerba Mate so I looked up the "recipe" for it. I wish this bag had included this information right on the bag. For the future, please add the recipe for 1 cup and for the French Press since it's suggested on the product page.For my French press, I added 4 cups of water (1000 ml) and 4 Tablespoons of tea (or 1 Tablespoon per cup of water). It tasted very smooth and not bitter and I didn't feel jittery drinking all of it.I think this company is trying to cater to a masculine crowd with this concept and I hope it doesn't deter female tea drinkers because this is excellent tea and I didn't know some other teas are "smoked" which is making me be more thorough before buying tea. This company has a great mission -- 1 tree planted per bag sold -- which I feel good supporting. I hope everyone tries this tea. It's excellent!

I was pleasantly surprised by quality and flavor is this yerba. I buy yerba in bulk when I visit Argentina and once I ran out I decided to try this brand. Found them on Instagram and decided to take the chance. It is definitely a competitor against other brands. I will surely be buying this again!

I think I now know what “robust” smells like. I could smell the flavor before I even opened the package.I brewed it in my coffee pot, replaced my coffee. It’s possible I may have brewed too much but it was very strong with bitter taste. Added a little honey to it to tame it!I found that this tea is better for me as an iced tea. I put it in a mason jar and let it sit a couple of days and was able to drink it unsweetened, I would like to try the Yerba mug next. I did feel a boost of energy just as with my daily coffee.

Yes the price is a little on the ‘premium’ side but I think it’s perfectly priced for the quality. I’ve heard a lot of distaste for the packaging, and yes it is a bit odd and different for a Yerba Mate. Obviously marketed to North Americans. But definitely don’t ‘judge a book by its cover’ here. This is one of the best brands I’ve ever tried. I’d put it up there under Anna Park which is my #1. The thing I love most about Madflow is just how incredibly balanced it is. It has just the perfect amount of stimulation/relaxation ratio. Whereas I’d consider Anna Park to be more on the relaxing side. I’d say the name is appropriate because it never fails to put me into a calm-yet-focused ‘flow-state’. The flavor is also well balanced and nuanced. This has become my daily drinker.
